I don’t know if you have noticed but Zach Braff seems to be an asshole in real life. I caught an interview with him on Kimmel the other night and he was there, apparently in character as JD from Scrubs, which used to be a fun, relatively clever show and now is not. He was in character, but without the writing staff that the show had a few years back, the ones that made him seem likable. The part that got to me was when the topic of pork, kosher eating and his new seafood restaurant came up and he spoke about “swine”. “Swine” is the English word that Jews, Muslims, and Seventh Day Adventists use to speak derisively about pork. The word, while entirely accurate, does not not have pleasant connotations. So while plugging his seafood restaurant that serves shellfish, he was deriding something that the majority of American gentiles enjoy.
I think that this was Braff trying to break away from the JD character, trying to get people to not like me as much. Look! I’m really an arrogant dipshit! I really despise the American people and their taste for hog-flesh! Pigs are ever so nasty! Please don’t force me to go back to that stupid fucking show again! I beg you!
